NEWS

2/11/2025 Here’s my interview of this morning on Portland’s KATU. Phew! Two days in a row. Tomorrow I’m gonna sleep in!  https://katu.com/amnw/am-northwest-lifestyle-health/songs-my-mother-taught-me-by-helen-winslow-black

2/11/2025 Books By Women just posted my guest  blog entitled “The Common Wages.” Hope you enjoy it!

Annie Bloom’s Books in Multnomah Village has very kindly offered me an author reading on the very day of publication–March 11. Please join me there for my new book’s birthday and get your copy hot off the presses!

I’m also excited to share that two other gems of independent bookstores will host me in March and April, in Chaffee County, Colorado, and on Chicago’s North Shore. But If I can’t meet you there, just know you can advance-order my book at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Powell’s.

For those in the Portland area who can’t make the birthday event, I’ll also be doing a meet & greet at the Bridgeport Village Barnes & Noble in early April. Pick up your copy and chat with me there!

Live TV interview on Koin 6 coming up! Pour yourself a cup of coffee and catch me on this CBS affiliate’s morning show “AM Extra” on Monday, March 10 at 8:00am PST.

If you sleep through the alarm on that one, tune into KATU at 9:00am the next day and catch my live interview on “AM Northwest.” That’s, like, noon for all you folks on the East Coast, so there’s no excuse! For Portlanders, that’s our CBS channel 2.

I’m also looking forward to conversations with author Cyrus Webb on Amazon LIVE, and radio host Warren Lawrence on Kingston, NY’s WKNY…this will be a morning-and-evening double-header on March 28!

In March, I’ll be posting links to guest blogs/author interviews on some cool websites such as BooksByWomen, Bookpleasures, LiteraryTitan, FreshFiction, and Book Q & A’s with Deborah Kalb. So keep an eye out.

Also…I’ll be setting up a Facebook author page soon. So there will be yet another virtual bulletin board where I can put this info….as soon as I corral one of my youthful tech advisers to actually execute this task. I’ll let you know when it happens!

Feb. 24. BookPleasures has posted a book review by Norm Goldman, who also conducted an author interview I really enjoyed. It was so full of thoughtful questions. Read both here:

Seattle’s multi-talented Donna Seebo will do a live phone interview with me on her eclectic, long-running evening show on March 14. The general theme of all her work is personal empowerment, so this is sure to be interesting!

I’m also guesting on “The Culture Buzz” on Des Moines’ KFMG-FM in March. I’ll post a link to that radio interview when it airs!

I’ll be doing a radio interview on KRWM-FM in Seattle as well, courtesy of Kate Daniels and her “Sunday Morning Magazine.” I’ll keep you posted on the date.
